Martina McBride, Trace Adkins give shining performance in Oklahoma City
Written by admin on December 13th, 2009

Martina McBride and Trace Adkins shone brightly for their Oklahoma City audience Saturday night.
Between McBride’s powerful voice and sassy energy and Adkin’s rowdy honky tonk and heartfelt ballads, the pair’s Shine All Night tour seemed to thrill the near capacity Ford Center crowd.
The show opened just after 7:30 p.m. with an Adkin’s video that wrapped as he rose from below center stage to the rollicking show opener, “I Got My Game On.”
“You ladies better watch out tonight,” Adkins teased the crowd before singing “Swing.”
The ladies in attendance seemed appreciative of the sentiment, as the big, tall cowboy in his black hat, button-down shirt, boots and jeans moved seductively about the stage.
Adkins is a big man with a deep, rich voice and a big presence, and his band is wonderful. While his first three songs were rockers, he slowed things down a bit for “I Wanna Feel Something.” Read more… »

May will be a country fans’ delight
Written by admin on December 13th, 2009

The first weekend in May at the Colonial Life Arena is going to be a country fan’s dream.
Taylor Swift will perform April 30; Martina McBride will be there May 2. And on May 1, Carrie Underwood will bring her “Play On Tour” to the venue, the arena announced Friday.
This will be Underwood’s first headlining appearance at the Colonial Life Arena. She opened for Brad Paisley in 2006.
Since Swift is sold out, why not grab a seat to one of country music’s other darlings.
Tickets, which cost $35 to $55, go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 18. Tickets can be purchased at the arena box office; at Play It Again Sports stores; at TWCtix.com; or by calling (877) 489-2849.

Martina McBride’s Got Your Number
Written by admin on December 13th, 2009

If you think non-celebrities are the only ones who bid on celebrity merchandise at auctions, you are so wrong. That’s because Martina McBride just paid around $1000 for an NFL jersey. The very jersey, in fact, that Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher wore when he “wanted to feel like a winner.” It’s not a Titans jersey, though. It’s from the Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning. Hence the hefty price tag. That jersey has controversy sewn right into it. During a recent interview with ESPN, there was even talk of a new McBride song about it called “We Got Your Number.” So, did McBride wear it during the Titans-Colts game yesterday (Dec. 6)? No word. But one thing’s for sure. The Titans did not feel like winners, jersey or no jersey.

Martina McBride delivers country music like a rock star on ‘Shine All Night’ tour
Written by admin on December 13th, 2009

The SunnyD Presents Shine All Night Tour Starring Martina McBride & Trace Adkins kicked off before the Thanksgiving holiday and night after night, McBride commanded legions of fans and critics to take note – The powerhouse vocalist can rock an arena with an all-out, swing-for-the-fences, no-holds-barred high energy production the size and scale of a rock star. Enthusiastic crowd reaction and highly animated audience participation proved McBride shattered all illusions of a sit-in-your-seat-and-clap-politely evening as the superstar entertainer unveiled surprise after surprise during her impressive 90 minute set of hit country music, costume changes, and elaborate production and staging.

“Opening night in Moline was nothing short of magic,” said McBride. It was not coincidence that this was the location of her Great Performances tv special and subsequent live DVD. The entertainer knew her enthusiastic Quad City audience was the perfect “home” to share such a special night.

“I wish I could describe how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of all that love and positive energy,” McBride added.
She explained the first show is always electric and much of the excitement is due to the thrill of the unknown but a return to Moline heightened that experience. After countless hours of planning and rehearsing for the Shine All Night Tour, the moment to step onstage in front of thousands of anticipating fans arrived and McBride was anxious to see how well the new show would be received.

“We just had to cross our fingers, say a prayer, and go out there and rock,” said Martina. “Luckily, it was a nearly flawless show…one of the best shows I have ever done…and the crowd was truly unbelievable!”

In addition, eager fans can access ticket presales and other offers through TraceAdkins.com, AmericanExpress.com and several other online outlets.

In addition to new content on the ShineAllNight and artist websites, CNN will feature McBride online in a new segment that reinvents the postcard “Wish You Were Here.” CNN.com will post short video clips, snapshots and text from McBride as she describes her activities in the various towns and cities she travels while on tour. The first McBride postcards will begin this week.

It’s been 2 years since this writer was last able to see Martina’s show live. It was actually on her birthday, and was in an outdoor arena in Lake Tahoe, NV. The show was wonderful, and I highly recommend it to anyone. The Shine All Night Tour also includes the amazing vocalist Trace Adkins, which just adds even more excitement to the night. Both of these artists really know how to put on a great show, and I wish they had dates in California, but it looks nothing closer than Colorado. If anyone has seen the show, please post a comment and let us know what you thought.
